GUIDE TO TOURNAMENT POKER

Put yourself in this position. Imagine you are playing in a poker tournament and the blinds are just about to go up. You look down at your custom poker chip stack and although it looks fairly healthy now, you know that very shortly in relation to the increased blinds, your custom poker chip stack will have become devalued. So what do you do? Wait until the blinds go up or take a bit of a risk now with your custom poker chip stack and keep your fingers crossed that it will pay off?

Obviously this is not the position you want to get yourself into as you want a healthy looking custom poker chip stack regardless of the size of the blinds and antes. But you can use this fact of life to your advantage in a poker tournament because you can look at the other players seated at the poker table and examine each custom poker chip stack. If some of them are small custom poker chip stacks then you can be pretty sure that in the minutes leading up to the increase of the blinds, they will become more loose and risky in their play. Not only before the blinds increase does this phenomenon often occur. If ever a poker player’s custom poker chip stack gets low, they will always be looking for an opportunity to double-up and get their custom poker chip stack in with any poker hand when they feel they sniff any weakness in their opponents and think they can execute the bluff successfully. Obviously at this stage in the poker tournament, you with your healthy custom poker chip stack should never be bluffing these sorts of poker players as they are almost impossible to bluff. They will play a range of starting poker hands and will raise all-in with almost anything.

You should sit tight with you large custom poker chip stack and wait for a good starting hand and raise with it. Especially in online poker, nobody will know that you have been quietly sitting there all evening because they only concentrate on what they are doing with their custom poker chip stack.
