| DAVE SCHARF’S
PLAYER CLASSIFICATION
Dave Scharf, an amateur poker player from Canada
who has played at the World Series of Poker, has come
up with an interesting way of classifying poker players
in his book, Winning at Poker, Essential Hints and
Tips. This is sure to help you win more and more customized
poker chips. He classifies poker players into one
of six categories:
1. The Screaming Fish
2. The Over Value Tuna
3. The Rock
4. The Deep Sea Bass
5. The Maniac
6. The Fox
We shall be looking at each of these in turn. If
you are vigilant enough when you next play poker,
whether online or for real, you will win more and
more customized poker chips by following this classification
and playing your poker gambling game accordingly.
1. The Screaming Fish
This is the worst poker player out there on the poker
circuit. You could classify this person as a beginner
and you should be clasping your hands with glee if
an S-fish sits down at your poker table because you
know you can win loads of customized poker chips from
them. They do not understand pooker hand value much
and will call re-raise after re-raise with bottom
pair on the flop. See how easy it is to get customized
poker chips from them! They also have no ability to
consider what poker hand you have, they can only concentrate
on what they are holding. Yet another reason why you
should be winning hundreds of customized poker chips
off this sort of poker player. They will keep calling
with their customized poker chips, surprised when
you beat them at the showdown. You should be prepared
to drag as many customized poker chips from these
players as you can!
They will call with almost anything and will chase
anything with as many customized poker chips as you
choose to gamble. If they have started to chase something
after the flop, you will never bluff them out as they
are usually going to call until the showdown (no matter
how many customized poker chips you bet).
These players tend to be passive and will usually
call raises rather than raising customized poker chips.
If ever they raise customized poker chips, back off
because they will probably have aces or kings (otherwise
they won’t raise). Generally, you can be slightly
more liberal in the cards you play against a screaming
fish.
