Queens are tricky given the wealth of combinations of cards higher than queens before the flop. However, our advice is always to raise the custom poker chip stack before the flop but to think carefully before reraising. If a poker player in early position puts in a raise of custom poker chips, and the next player follows this with a reraise, you are third to act with a fair few eager poker players behind you. What should you do with your queens?

You simply must throw these cards away and save your custom poker chip stack for another day! If you are playing at a poker table filled with maniacs, you could safely assume your queens are good and then go ahead and bet your custom poker chips. But usually, there are one or two good players at a poker table and so it is not safe to risk any custom poker chips on a reraise in such an early position.

However, positioning is so important with queens because being in the blinds would change this advice quite dramatically. If there has already been a reraise, as you already have custom poker chips in the pot, you may as well flat call the second raise and see what hits on the flop. If a king or an ace hits though, you must cut your custom poker chip losses and get out fast. You may be lucky and hit trips which would rapidly increase your chances of bringing in the custom poker chip pot at the end of the poker hand.

Faced with only one raise though, it is important to reraise from late positioning in order to narrow the field and create a heads-up situation as this is conducive to custom poker chip winnings! If you are lucky enough to hit trips, make sure you bet into it (even if there is a king or an ace on the board). Sets don’t peel out very often and so you should not hold back on your custom poker chip gambling for fear of another poker player having hit trips. If a king comes out with the queen, other poker opponents will put you on a king. If someone has big slick (very likely if they had initially raised the custom poker chip pot) he will raise you. Make sure you maximise custom poker chip winnings here by smooth-calling and inducing another raise with a check after the turn comes out.
