Strategy for Playing Two-Tens

We have now started to discuss medium pairs (top pairs are Jacks upwards). Tens are often very valuable but only in certain situations. You must be careful not to play tens when faced with raises of custom poker chips from the early positions. It is more likely than not that you will see an overcard to your tens hitting the flop. You should play this hand but you should bear this in mind when gambling your custom poker chips. Remember that having two 10s means there is less straight potential for other poker players and so this increases your chances of coming out winning the custom poker chips in this poker hand.

From early position, you should usually raise custom poker chips with two tens. From middle position, if there has been no limpers or raisers, you really should raise customized poker chips. If a few poker players have limped in, it may be worth doing the same from middle position so you can see the flop for the minimum amount of custom poker chips. This allows you to attempt to hit trips and catch out the unaware whilst secretly stacking up the custom poker chip pot which you will be taking down! The aim is not to slow play the hand though (you should only really slow play with aces or kings) but it is to see the flop cheaply as you know there are going to be many poker players in the pot anyway (so why not see the flop for a pitiful quantity of custom poker chips?).

If you limp in and some other poker player raises after you, we suggest that you re-raise from middle-late position in order to knock out those with marginal poker hands and try to get a heads-up situation with this raiser. In this way, you will usually be an 11:10 favourite to win the custom poker chips as late position poker players often raise with two unpaired picture cards or a low ace. You can also rely on your positioning to win you the custom poker chips as you are first to act after the flop so you can represent strength as you would in heads-up play. If the raiser has a pair higher than tens, that’s just unlucky and you would be right more times than you would be wrong if you follow this strategy. If any overcards to your tens come out, be careful if you want to win custom poker chips. You may have to cut your custom poker chip losses and wait until the next poker hand.
