Strategy for Playing Ace-Queen
Once again, although this is a great hand to gaze
down upon in Texas Holdem, especially if you are low
on custom poker chips, it is often over-valued by
many a poker player. It is most definitely a raising
hand from any position at the poker table. You must
raise with your custom poker chips but rarely is it
wise to re-raise custom poker chips with this hand.
If a queen or an ace hits on the flop, you are in
a strong position because with the queen you have
hit top pair with top kicker to back it up and if
an ace comes out you have hit top pair with the second
best kicker (only A-K would have you beat).
We say that it would ‘rarely’ be wise
to risk your custom poker chips with a re-raise on
the A-Q because it sometimes may be necessary, especially
in a tournament situation. If a poker player has raised
custom poker chips and only has a few custom poker
chips left, you are advised to re-raise him/her all-in
as even if the community cards don’t help you,
you cannot lose any more custom poker chips at the
behest of this player (and you will probably knock
out the blinds which will increase your chances of
coming out on top). It is also apparent that when
playing poker with maniacs, they are likely to raise
custom poker chips with hands that we would usually
advise against even raising with! So you’re
A-Q is likely to be worth increasing the size of the
custom poker chip pot for!
You must be prepared to throw away the A-Q and stop
gambling customized poker chips if you fear that one
of your poker opponents has the A-K which we talked
about in a previous strategy guide. Do not allow yourself
to become trapped! Even if the Ace comes out, another
poker player at the poker table could have you beaten
with their higher kicker. So, to maximise the amount
of custom poker chips you extract from the poker hand,
you are really hoping for the queen to be dealt. Obviously,
if you can put your opponent on pocket Cowboys, an
ace is the dream card for you and you can ensure you
draw as many custom poker chips out of your opponents
as possible. Again, as with the big slick, a suited
A-Q is only a slight help to you in terms of the potential
to make a flush. |
