Playing Rockets
We
have seen the dangers of not betting custom poker
chips from early position. We must erase it from our
poker vocabulary; limping in with aces from the first
seat gets poker players into all kinds of trouble
as they have given free cards to their opponents.
This is a sure way to give away your custom poker
chip stack!
Should we be playing the rockets differently from
a late position at the poker table? If two poker players
have already raised with custom poker chips, should
you do the same or just call (hoping to hide the true
potential of your poker hand)? The answer is, you
simply must bring the custom poker chip pot in for
yet another raise. You must not even consider trying
to trap by flat-calling as this means you won’t
get full value of custom poker chips out of the hand
you have luckily been dealt. You only get aces 1 every
169 hands, make the most of it! You have the best
hand possible before the flop and so you must raise
the custom poker chip stack, even if sometimes you
get unluckily outflopped (and lose custom poker chips
as a result, although this only usually happens one
in every five times).
After the flop, if it has been a good set of cards
for you, you must lead out again with a nice-sized
bet of custom poker chips. This aims to limit the
field once more as you want to either take the hand
down there and then, or be up against only one other
player. Once you have limited the field to heads-up,
it is often a wise move to allow your opponent to
think he/she is controlling the action. If he raises
fourth street with a load of custom poker chips (and
you know there are no flush or straight opportunities
out there), merely call. Then re-raise if he raises
on fifth street as the trap you created induced the
final bet of custom poker chips. As a rule of thumb,
check at this stage against the more professional/tricky
poker players but bet out with large quantities of
custom poker chips against the timid and predicatble
poker players who are not accustomed to checking strong
hands!
